Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) describes the conduct required of everyone who uses the PermitOS Service. It exists to keep applicants, reviewers, cities, and the public safe and to preserve the integrity of permit workflows.
Permitted use
- Preparing, organizing, and prechecking permit packages.
- Supporting reviewer workflows with summaries, citations, and corrections.
- Collaborating within an organization workspace on legitimate projects.
- Researching code, zoning, and submission requirements with human verification.
Prohibited use
- Using the Service for any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose.
- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity, performance, or security of the Service.
- Reverse engineering, scraping, or circumventing access controls.
- Reselling or sublicensing the Service without authorization.
Sensitive documents and security
Uploaded permit documents may include sensitive project information. You must follow your organization’s policies for handling such information and must not upload material you are not authorized to share. Do not submit sensitive documents through public contact forms — use the secured workspace.
AI output misuse
- Do not present AI-generated outputs as guaranteed permit approval.
- Do not misrepresent AI-generated output as an official city decision or determination by the authority having jurisdiction.
- Do not remove, alter, or hide source citations, confidence indicators, or uncertainty information attached to AI outputs.
No unlawful permitting or misrepresentation
- Do not use the Service to create fraudulent applications or altered documents.
- Do not impersonate another person, organization, or public official.
- Do not misstate ownership, scope, or compliance status of a project.
No attempts to bypass human review
The Service is decision-support for qualified humans. You must not use the Service to circumvent, replace, or shortcut required review by an authority having jurisdiction, licensed professional, or internal reviewer.
No harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- No content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or threatening.
- No malware, malicious code, or content designed to harm systems or people.
- No content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights.
Suspension and enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we believe appropriate to protect the Service and its users. Workspace administrators are responsible for ensuring members comply with this Policy.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using the Service in violation of this Policy, please report it to legal@PermitOS.co with as much detail as possible.
