Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the PermitOS website, applications, or related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Description of PermitOS
PermitOS provides workflow tools for permit precheck, zoning guidance, correction handling, and reviewer support. Specific features available to your account may vary based on your plan, workspace configuration, and feature availability.
Decision-support only
PermitOS is decision-support only. Outputs generated by the Service, including AI-generated checks, summaries, and recommendations, are intended to assist qualified humans in preparing or reviewing permit applications. They are not official determinations.
No permit approval guarantee
- PermitOS does not approve permits.
- PermitOS does not replace the authority having jurisdiction.
- PermitOS does not guarantee compliance, approval, review speed, or acceptance of any application.
No legal, engineering, architectural, or professional advice
The Service does not provide legal, engineering, architectural, land-use planning, or other professional advice. You are responsible for engaging qualified licensed professionals where required.
User accounts and organization workspaces
You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. Workspace administrators are responsible for managing membership, roles, and access within their organization workspace. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
User responsibilities
- Use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Confirm you have the right to upload any document you submit.
- Verify Service outputs before relying on them for any submission, decision, or action.
- Follow your organization’s internal policies for handling project information.
Uploaded documents and project data
You retain ownership of documents and project data you upload (your “Customer Data”). You grant PermitOS a limited license to host, process, and display your Customer Data solely as needed to provide the Service to you and your workspace.
AI-generated outputs and limitations
AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. The Service may surface confidence levels and source citations to help qualified reviewers evaluate output quality. You must not present AI-generated output as an official determination by any authority.
Human review and authority decisions
All permitting decisions remain with the applicable authority having jurisdiction and the qualified humans involved in the application and review process. The Service is designed to support — not replace — that human authority.
Payments and billing
Paid plans, billing terms, taxes, and refund policies must be finalized before production launch. Until then, this section is a See the pricing page for current published information.
Prohibited use
Use of the Service is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Prohibited uses include misrepresenting AI output as an official decision, uploading documents without authorization, and attempting to bypass required human review.
Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Specific service-level commitments, if any, must be agreed in a separate written agreement.
Intellectual property
PermitOS, including all software, designs, content, and trademarks (other than your Customer Data), is owned by PermitOS and its licensors. No rights are granted to you except as expressly set out in these Terms.
Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant PermitOS a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback to improve the Service, with no obligation to you.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PermitOS will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Specific liability caps must be reviewed for this workspace before production launch.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
Governing law
The governing law and venue for disputes arising out of these Terms must be specified for this workspace before launch launch and will be inserted here.
